Akumal Main Bay

Akumal was the secret place for many years discovered only by those who traveled down the Mexican Caribbean coastline in search of adventure and uniquely gorgeous places to spend a dream vacation. Akumal really is a very special little town with a beautiful sandy beach, lots of palm trees and a nice atmosphere. This is a great place to snorkel and there are many sea turtles in the area as they nest here. Akumal has all you need to make you feel like you are truly in paradise

North Akumal Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay is the second bay of Akumal going north. Many of our vacation rental villas are located on the rocky coastline between the main bay of Akumal and Half Moon Bay. The coastline between Akumal Main Bay and Half Moon Bay is rocky, but all of the villas for rent in on the rocky coast have swimming pool and are only a short walk or drive away from the Main Akumal Bay's sandy beach or Half Moon Bay’s beach.

Akumal Yalku Lagoon

Yalku Lagoon is on the end of Half Moon Bay, where some of our favorite private homes for rent are located. The lagoon is a beautiful location for rental homes and the views to the lagoon are just incredible. If you wish to spend a day on the sandy beach in Akumal or another beautiful Caribbean beach in the area, everything the Mayan Riviera has to offer is only a short drive from your villa. Snorkeling in Yalku lagoon is a must. YalkuLagoon is a narrow inlet, through which fresh water traveling via underground rivers reaches the Caribbean Sea. In Yalku Lagoon you will find a big variety of colored tropical fish . Yalku’s depth is aprox. 14 feet and there is no beach. In the deeper water, closer to the Caribbean Sea, it is common to see Sea Turtles and Stingrays gracefully swimming along the sandy bottom.

Akumal Jade Bay

Akumal Jade Bay is only 1/4 mile south of Akumal (the next bay down the coast after the main bay of Akumal) and has a very nice sandy beach. Jade Bay offers private homes and one condominium complex with a restaurant. There are no other stores or restaurants in Jade Bay. Akumal Jade Bay is very private and quiet.

Aventuras Akumal

Aventuras Akumal has one of the most beautiful white sandy beach in the Akumal area. Its the following bay of South Akumal Bay, aprox. 3 miles south of Akumal Main Bay. Along the beach you will find a great selection of beach front vacation homes at reasonable rates. There are also a few small condominium complexes and on both ends of the long bay there is the Oasis Hotel and Hotel Bahia Principe. Aventuras Akumal offers a small grocery store, located in Las Brisas and one restaurant at the Villas de Rosa. You are also within a walking distance to the Hacienda Doña Isabel Shopping Center (which is part of Hotel Bahia Principe). There you will find lots of souvenir shops, ATM machines and a small snack bar restaurant where you can get a quick lunch. Its about a 15 min. walk from Aventuras Akumal to Hacienda Doña Isabel Shopping Center.

Akumal South Bay

Akumal South Bay is 1-1/2 miles south of Akumal (the beach south of Jade Bay) and is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the Mexican Caribbean. Groves of palm trees and tropical vegetation give every rental villa natural privacy. We recommend renting a car to be flexible for any grocery shopping in Akumal or any other activities you would like to do during your stay in Mexico.
